Aromatic white and red mulled wine

Ingredients

Red mulled wine
  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 500 millilitre orange juice
  • dark bush honey, to taste
  • cinnamon quill
  • 6 whole cloves
  • grating of fresh nutmeg
  • 2 star anise
  • sliced oranges, limes and mandarin
White mulled wine
  • 250 millilitre pear juice
  • 1 bottle oaky chardonnay
  • 1 cinnamon quill
  • 2 star anise
  • pale honey, to taste
  • 6 black peppercorns
  • 6 cloves
  • 1 pear, sliced

Method

    Add all ingredients (for red or white mulled wine) in a pot and gently heat over a low temperature for 10 minutes until hot, fragrant and the flavours have infused.
