1.Preheat oven to moderate, 180°C. Lightly grease four 2-cup ovenproof dishes.
2.In a small saucepan, melt half the butter on medium. Sauté onion, celery and garlic for 2-3 minutes until softened. Stir in flour and cook for 30 seconds. Remove from heat. Gradually stir in milk until smooth. Return to heat and bring to the boil, stirring. Simmer for 3 minutes. Stir through 1 cup grated cheese.
3.In a large bowl, combine tuna, sauce and vegetables. Spoon into dishes. Place on a large oven tray.
4.In a medium frying pan, melt remaining butter on medium. Stir in breadcrumbs and remaining cheese. Sprinkle over tuna mixture.
5.Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbling and golden. Accompany with salad.
Note
- To speed things up, use ready-made white sauce.
