Tamari roasted mixed nuts

Salty, crunchy and packed full of flavour, these delicious roasted nuts and incredibly moorish and perfect enjoyed as a mid-morning snack.

Tamari roasted mixed nuts
  • 250 gram almond kernels
  • 150 gram raw macadamia nuts
  • 100 gram brazil nuts
  • 100 gram raw cashew nuts
  • 3 tablespoon tamari sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

    Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced).

    Place nuts onto a baking tray. Cook 5-10 minutes, or until lightly roasted. Transfer nuts to a bowl. Add tamari, cumin and cayenne pepper. Mix to combine.

    Return the nuts to baking tray. Cook further 10 more minutes, turning halfway through. Allow to cool completely before serving.


Tamari sauce is a wheat-free soy sauce available from the health food section of supermarkets. Nuts and seeds have a high protein content, and may help to lower cholesterol.
