Ingredients

Sweet and sour wontons
  • cooking oil spray
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 100 gram chicken mince
  • 200 gram peeled uncooked prawns, deveined
  • 3 green onions, sliced, plus 2 extra, to serve
  • 2 teaspoon finely grated fresh ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoon bought sweet and sour sauce, plus extra, to serve

    Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan forced. Spray 2 x 12-hole mini muffin trays with oil.

    Press wonton wrappers into holes. Spray with oil. Bake for 5-6 minutes or until golden brown.

    Remove from oven. Transfer wonton cups to a serving platter.

    Process mince, prawns, onion, ginger and garlic using pulse button until smooth.

    Heat oil in a wok or large frying pan over high heat. Stir-fry mince mixture for 5 minutes or until cooked. Stir in sauce: season.

    Spoon mince mixture into wonton cups. Top with extra onion. Serve with extra sweet and sour sauce.

Notes

Baking ensures a low-fat wonton. Serve wontons with your favourite dipping sauce. To make traditional wontons, brush edges of wonton wrappers with a little water, top with filling then pinch wanton to enclose filling. Steam or deep-fry.
