Spiced apple syrup sipper
For those feeling adventurous, here’s a mocktail recipe that will fill your family home with the traditional Christmas smell of cinnamon.

Ingredients
Spiced apple syrup sipper
- 10 cardamom pods
- 1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 centimetre knob of ginger, peeled and chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 200 millilitre honey
- 200 millilitre water
- 750 millilitre Appletiser
Method
Spiced apple syrup sipper
- 1In a dry frying pan, toast cardamom, peppercorns, cloves and cinnamon stick until aromatic.
- 2Combine these in a small pan with the ginger, vanilla extract, honey and water and bring to the boil.
- 3Simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring often (the longer you simmer, the stronger the spice flavours will be) then remove from heat and strain.
- 4Allow syrup to cool, and then pour over ice, top with Appletiser and a squeeze of lemon juice.
Notes
To make this a cocktail simply add 200ml Scotch whisky.
