Ingredients

Smashed swede with chilli and herbs
  • 1 kilogram swede, peeled, chopped coarsely
  • 40 gram butter
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) cream
  • 1 fresh long red chilli, seeded, chopped finely
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped chives
  • 2 teaspoon finely grated lemon rind

Method

Smashed swede with chilli and herbs

    Boil or steam swede until tender, drain.
  • 2
    Coarsely crush the swede with butter and cream in a medium bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients. Season to taste with salt.
