Savoury french toast
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup cream or milk
  • 2 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 8 thick slices baguette
  • 15 gram butter
  • maple syrup, to serve

    In a bowl, combine eggs, cream or milk and chopped parsley.

    Season to taste and whisk well. Soak 8 thick slices baguette in egg mixture for a few seconds each side.

    Heat 15g butter in a frying pan on medium. When foaming, place the soaked bread in the pan.

    Cook for 2-3 minutes each side until golden. Serve with maple syrup.


Make a sweet version by adding 1 tablespoon icing sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (in place of parsley). Cook and serve with vanilla ice-cream.
