Halloween rotten apples with sweet biscuit filling

Rotten apples
  • 8 baby apples
  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 60 gram softened butter, plus 20g extra, melted
  • 8 anzac bicuits, finely crushed
  • 1/4 cup dark choc chips
  • 2 tablespoon sultanas


Rotten apples

    Preheat oven to moderately slow, 160C.

    Cut tops from apples and set aside. Remove core using an apple corer. Discard.

    Sift flour and cinnamon together into a small bowl. Rub in butter, then mix in remaining ingredients.

    Place apples in a baking dish. Spoon crumble mixture into cavities. Brush skin with extra butter. Place lids on top.

    Bake 20-25 minutes until crumble is golden apples are tender.


Crush biscuits, in a snap lock bag, wrapped into tea towel. Place on a board and pound with a rolling pin.
