Ingredients

Plum and apple chutney
  • 1.5 kilogram plums, halved, stoned
  • 3 cup (660g) firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 cup (500ml) cider vinegar
  • 4 granny smith apples, unpeeled, grated
  • 2 red onions, finely sliced
  • 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried chilli flakes

Method

Plum and apple chutney
  • 1
    Place all ingredients in a large, heavy-based saucepan. Bring to boil and simmer, stirring regularly, 60 minutes, until thick and syrupy. Stir occasionally so mixture does not stick to pan.
