Kumara and thyme gratin
Give a French classic a Kiwi twist with this delicious kumara and thyme gratin recipe. Serve as a tasty side dish to your next meal

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 kilogram kumara, peeled, finely sliced
- 50 gram butter
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 sprigs of thyme
- 1 cup cream
- 1/2 cup grated cheese
Method
- 1Preheat oven to 180ºC.
- 2Slice kumara as thinly as you can using a knife or mandolin.
- 3Grease a baking dish with butter. Layer kumara and onions, seasoning with salt and pepper as you go. Sprinkle over thyme leaves.
- 4Pour cream over kumara. Sprinkle cheese on top and season.
- 5Bake for 30 minutes or until kumara is tender.
