- 2Add bacon during the last 3 minutes of cooking, turning once.
- 3Split buns through top, three-quarters of the way through. Microwave on high for 30 seconds until warm and fluffy.
- 4Place a frankfurter in each bun. Arrange remaining ingredients and condiments in bowls on a platter. Add toppings of choice and accompany with onion rings.
Notes
For onion rings, sift 1¼ cups plain flour, ½ teaspoon baking powder and pinch of salt into a large bowl. Whisk in 375ml bottle chilled beer. Slice 4 medium white onions into 1cm-thick rings. Working in 4 batches, dip into batter, then deep-fry for 2-3 minutes or until crisp. Drain on a paper towel.
