Hot apple and ice-cream sandwiches
1.In a large frying pan, combine half each butter, sugar and cinnamon. Stir over medium heat, until sugar dissolves.
2.Cook apples 1-2 minutes each side, until golden. Remove from pan; keep warm.
3.Melt remaining butter, sugar and cinnamon in same pan. Cook cake slices 1-2 minutes each side, until lightly golden.
4.Place 4 cake slices on serving plates. Top with apples and a scoop of ice-cream. Drizzle maple syrup over. Top with remaining slices of cake.
You could try this with fruit cake, fruit loaf or even brioche.
