Glazed ham kebabs

These quick and tasty glazed ham kebabs with marmalade and sugar are perfect starters or party finger food.

Ingredients

Glazed ham kebabs
  • 16 small bamboo skewers
  • 1 kilogram piece boneless leg ham
  • 1/3 cup marmalade
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water

Method

    Soak skewers in water for 30 minutes before threading, to prevent burning. Cut ham into 48 cubes. Thread 3 cubes onto each skewer.

    Combine marmalade juice, sugar and water in a small saucepan. Stir over low heat until sugar has dissolved. Simmer for 10 minutes, or until sauce is thickened slightly.

    Arrange kebabs in a shallow dish, cover with sauce. Set aside to marinate at least 15 minutes.

    Preheat a barbecue on high. Cook kebabs for 23 minutes each side, basting often, or until golden.
