Fruit skewers

These colourful, and adorable, fruit skewers are fantastic for a kids' party and are bound to be a huge hit at any time.

Ingredients

Fruit skewers
  • 2 large kiwifruit (240g), peeled
  • 2 medium oranges (500g), peeled
  • 1/4 seedless watermelon (1.5kg)
  • 1/2 large pineapple (1kg), peeled
  • 4 strawberries, halved crossways

Method

    Cut each kiwifruit and orange crossways into four slices. Remove rind from melon, cut fruit into 1.5cm (¾-inch) slices. Cut pineapple into 1.5cm (¾-inch) slices.

    Cut eight 4.5cm (1¾-inch) rounds from the kiwifruit and orange slices. Cut eight 4.5cm (1¾-inch) rounds from the watermelon and pineapple slices.

    Thread alternating slices of fruit onto eight bamboo skewers, ending with a strawberry.

Notes

Leftover fruit pieces can be used in juices or smoothies. Prepare the skewers the morning of the party.
