Five-spice beef fried rice

This light and lovely stir-fry combines beef with brown rice and fresh veges for a healthy midweek meal

Ingredients

Method

1.Heat a wok or large nonstick frying pan on high. Coat beef in five-spice powder. Stir-fry beef for 1-2 minutes until browned. Transfer to a plate.
2.Meanwhile, cook rice according to packet instructions.
3.In same wok, stir-fry ginger and garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add gai lan, capsicum and sprouts, then stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until tender.
4.Mix in hot rice, sauces and beef. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes. Serve sprinkled with onion and sesame seeds. Accompany with chilli sauce.

To help steam vegetables, add a splash of water to the wok.
