Egg-in-the-hole burger

A breakfast classic becomes a delicious main in this outrageously tasty egg-in-the-hole burger recipe. Serve with hot chips (or a green salad to add a healthier edge)

Method

1.Mix the patty ingredients together, roll into 4 balls and shape into flat patties. With a cookie cutter or sharp knife, remove a circle from the centre of each patty. Make sure the patty is still nicely held together.
2.Heat some oil in a large frying pan and fry the patties until the bottom starts to cook – about 4 minutes. Crack an egg into a small bowl and then carefully pour into the hole. Cook for a further few minutes until the egg starts to cook on the bottom. Carefully flip patty and cook the remaining side for about 3 minutes. Place a slice of cheese on top of patty and cover with a lid until melted.
3.Construct your burger with your desired toppings. Serve immediately with hot chips, or a green salad if you want to feel healthier.
