Easy homemade strawberry ice cream topping

Take your store-bought ice cream to the next level with this strawberry topping recipe. All you need is four every day ingredients and 20 minutes to create this sweet, summery sauce from scratch

  • 3-4 cups strawberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • dash vanilla extract
  • squeeze lemon juice

    Chop strawberries. Place in a saucepan with sugar and heat until juices run. Cook gently for 15 minutes.

    Purée half the mixture in a blender then return it to the pan. Add vanilla extract and lemon juice to taste, then leave to cool.


  • Makes 2-3 cups.
