Devils on horseback

These tasty devils on horseback are incredibly easy to make and will be perfect served as a starter at your next dinner party or family gathering

  • 16 medjool dates
  • 1/2 cup blue cheese, crumbled
  • 8 slice streaky bacon (about 200g), halved lengthways (check label for gluten free)

    Preheat oven to 190°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.

    Make a small slit down one side of each date, remove pit and carefully stuff with about ½ teaspoon blue cheese. Tightly wrap a slice of bacon around each stuffed date, taking care to secure the opening as much as possible.

    Place the dates on the prepared tray, cut side up, and bake for about 15 minutes until the bacon is cooked through. Serve immediately as these are best served hot.
