Method

1.Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan forced. [KIDS Grease and line a 30x20cm (base measurement) slice pan with baking paper, extending paper at long sides for handles.]
2.Place butter and chocolate in a large heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water (don’t let base of bowl touch water). Cook and stir for 3-5 minutes or until melted and smooth. Remove bowl from pan. Cool slightly. [KlDS Sift flour and baking powder directly into chocolate mixture in bowl. Add sugar and eggs; whisk to combine. Pour into prepared pan; level top.] Bake for 45-50 minutes or until set. Cool in pan.
3.Transfer brownie to a chopping board. [KIDS Using an 8cm Christmas tree-shaped cookie cutter, cut out 16 shapes from brownie.] Insert a wooden skewer into base of each tree. [KIDS Decorate tops with red and green decorating icing.] Set.

Dip cookie cutter into hot water. Wipe dry, then use to cut easily through brownie. Use brownie offcuts to make Christmas rum balls for adults or scatter over ice-cream for a dessert. Make ahead: You can make and ice brownies up to 2 days ahead. Place in an airtight container. Refrigerate.
