Choc chip cookies

There are few biscuits more loved than the classic chocolate chip cookie. Whip up a batch this weekend to share with friends and family, or enjoy on your own as a afternoon snack with a pot of tea.

Ingredients

Method

1.Beat butter, essence and sugars in small bowl with electric mixer until light and fluffy, beat in egg. Stir in flours, chocolate bits, nuts and milk.
2.Drop heaped tablespoons of mixture onto lightly greased oven trays, about 3cm apart.
3.Bake in moderate oven about 12 minutes or until firm and lightly browned. Stand on trays 5 minutes before lifting onto wire racks to cool.

Recipe can be made 4 days ahead. Store in airtight container. Freeze suitable. Microwave not suitable.
