Ingredients
Char siu pork with snake beans
- 200 gram pork strips
- 2 tablespoon char siu sauce
- 2 teaspoon light soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 1 tablespoon peanut oil
- 1 (25g) shallot, sliced thinly
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 100 gram snake beans, chopped coarsely
- 1 tablespoon mirin
- 1/4 cup (50g) rinsed, drained sliced bamboo shoots
- 2 teaspoon sesame seeds, toasted
Method
Char siu pork with snake beans
- 1Combine pork, sauces and five-spice in small bowl.
- 2Heat half the oil in wok, stir-fry pork mixture until browned and sticky. Remove from wok.
- 3Heat remaining oil in wok, stir-fry shallot, garlic and beans until beans are tender. Return pork to wok with mirin and bamboo shoots, stir-fry until hot, season to taste. Serve topped with sesame seeds.
Notes
Use thinly sliced pork fillet instead of pork strips if you like. Pork mixture can be marinated for a few hours or overnight in the fridge.
