Ingredients

Char siu pork with snake beans
  • 200 gram pork strips
  • 2 tablespoon char siu sauce
  • 2 teaspoon light soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil
  • 1 (25g) shallot, sliced thinly
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 100 gram snake beans, chopped coarsely
  • 1 tablespoon mirin
  • 1/4 cup (50g) rinsed, drained sliced bamboo shoots
  • 2 teaspoon sesame seeds, toasted

Method

    Combine pork, sauces and five-spice in small bowl.

    Heat half the oil in wok, stir-fry pork mixture until browned and sticky. Remove from wok.

    Heat remaining oil in wok, stir-fry shallot, garlic and beans until beans are tender. Return pork to wok with mirin and bamboo shoots, stir-fry until hot, season to taste. Serve topped with sesame seeds.

Notes

Use thinly sliced pork fillet instead of pork strips if you like. Pork mixture can be marinated for a few hours or overnight in the fridge.
