Ingredients
Boston baked beans
- 15 gram butter
- 2 chorizo sausages, thickly sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 420 gram can baked beans
- 400 gram can diced tomatoes
- 2 tablespoon maple syrup
- 2 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon tabasco or chilli sauce thick toast, to serve
Method
Boston baked beans
- 1Melt butter in a large saucepan on high heat. Saute chorizo and onion for 1-2 minutes or until onion is tender.
- 2Stir in beans and tomatoes. Bring to the boil, stirring. Blend in maple syrup and sauces.
- 3Reduce heat to very low to keep warm. If liked, sprinkle with parsley, then some with toast.
Notes
You can replace chorizo with 4 thickly sliced Frankfurts or 4 thickly sliced bacon rashers. For a more substantial meal, serve with poached, fried or scrambled eggs. Make toasties with two slices of wholemeal bread using any leftovers.
