Method
1.Preheat oven to 180°C. Lightly grease and line base and sides of a 12 x 22cm loaf pan with baking paper.
2.In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat butter, sugar and vanilla together until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
3.Lightly stir in banana and sour cream. Fold in sifted combined flour and baking soda, followed by chocolate, then pour into pan.
4.Bake for 50-55 minutes until cooked when tested. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frosting
5.Using an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar together until creamy. Gradually beat in chocolate until smooth.
6.Split loaf in half horizontally. Place one half on a serving plate cut-side up. Spread loaf with half the frosting, then place remaining cake half on top and finish off with remaining frosting. Decorate loaf with chocolate curls.
