Method
Bacon and cheese pull-aparts
- 1Preheat oven to hot 200°C (180°C fan-forced). Grease and line a baking tray with baking paper.
- 2Heat a large frying pan over moderate heat. Cook bacon, stirring, 3-4 minutes, or until crisp. Transfer bacon to paper towels to drain; cool.
- 3Meanwhile. sift flour into a large bowl. Rub in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Make a well in centre; add milk. Using a round-bladed knife, cut through mixture until it forms a soft dough, adding 1-2 tablespoons more milk if needed.
- 4Turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead briefly until smooth.
- 5Divide dough into 6 portions; roll out each portion to a 15 x 8cm rectangle. Sprinkle with bacon and 3/4 cup tasty cheese.
- 6Starting from a long edge, roll up dough to shape into a log. Place logs, side by side, on prepared tray. Brush dough with extra milk to glaze; sprinkle with remaining tasty cheese and parmesan.
- 7Bake 20 minutes, or until golden. Serve at once.
