Apple crumble galette

This dessert will be a sure-fire hit - the golden flaky crust, soft stewed apples and sweet crumbly topping is perfect served warm with ice-cream.

Method

1.Preheat oven to 200°C (160°C fan-forced). Lightly grease a baking tray.
2.Cut a 24cm round from pastry. Place on baking tray. Place apples cut-side down on pastry round, leaving a 3cm border.
3.To make topping: Place flour in a small bowl. Rub in butter, using fingertips, until combined. Stir in oats, sugar and spice. Sprinkle crumble over apples.
4.Fold pastry edge up and pleat around filling. Brush edges with butter.
5.Bake the galette for 25 minutes, until golden. Serve warm, dusted with icing sugar and accompanied by ice-cream.

Tip: Add a tablespoon of shredded coconut to the filling for added flavour and texture.
