How to make the most of feijoa season with Nici Wickes

Watch as New Zealand Woman's Weekly Food Editor Nici Wickes whips up an irresistible Eton mess and shares her top tips and tricks for making the most of autumn's glut of feijoas.

Nici's best feijoa creations

Because feijoa and apple seasons coincide, it seems only right to pop them both into one cake! They work well in this moist upside-down cake recipe, courtesy of Nici's mum.
It would usually go against Nici's purist sensibilities to make anything but the classic vanilla crème brûlée, but this chocolate and feijoa version is just so irresistible that she's made an exception!
Nici shares the recipe for her very best feijoa friands. With their gentle, perfumed flavour and jellied texture, feijoas really make these delicate, gluten-free friands sing.
This is Nici's take on the original "gingernut log". The flavours along with the creamy texture make this a popular dessert. Who doesn't like a boozy, fruity dessert?
This moist loaf tastes amazing freshly baked and is still wonderful a few days later when toasted (if it lasts that long!).
