Crunchy walnut wafers

ingredients
- 125 gram butter
- 125 gram sugar
- 125 gram treacle
- 125 gram flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 75 gram walnuts, chopped
method

Preheat oven to 175°C. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper.

Cream the butter, sugar and treacle until light and fluffy.

Sift the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture. Combine well. Lastly, add the walnuts and mix.

Put small spoonfuls on the prepared trays, allowing room for spreading.

Bake for 10-15 minutes until firm to touch. Leave on the trays for 1-2 minutes to harden, then place on a wire rack to cool.
notes
- Store in an airtight tin to preserve their crispness, but if not, they are still delightfully chewy!
