White chocolate & orange cookies

White chocolate & orange cookies

This recipe makes plenty for kids’ lunchboxes and is a lovely treat for teachers.

White chocolate & orange cookies

  • 220 g butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup caster sugar
  • 1/4 cup condensed milk
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla paste
  • 2 1/4 cups self-raising flour
  • 3/4 cup roughly chopped white chocolate or white chocolate melts

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C. Line 2 trays with baking paper.
  2. Using an electric beater, cream the butter and sugar for 3-4 minutes until fluffy and pale. Add condensed milk, orange zest and vanilla paste and beat well. Remove the beater and stir in flour and chocolate.
  3. Roll into walnut-sized balls and place on the lined trays, leaving room for spreading.
  4. Flatten slightly with a fork and bake 10-14 minutes until golden. For even cooking shapes, I find it's good to weigh the mixture then roll into 28g balls.
