Method

1.Preheat oven to moderate, 180°C. Lightly grease an 18 x 28cm slice pan. Line with baking paper, extending 2cm over the two long sides.
2.In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the butter, sugar and vanilla together until pale and creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
3.Lightly fold in almonds and flour. Spoon into pan, smoothing top.
4.Bake for 40 minutes.
