Method

1.Zest rind of 1 orange and set rind aside. Peel all oranges thickly, removing pith as you go. Slice oranges and place in a serving dish with rind.
2.Combine water, caster sugar and cinnamon sticks in a saucepan. Stir on medium heat until sugar has dissolved. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer, without stirring, for 10 minutes, until liquid has reduced by one-third. Pour syrup over oranges. Chill until required.

To prevent syrup forming crystals, do not stir once boiled.
