Prawn rolls with thousand island dressing

  • 250 g cooked prawns
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp celery salt
  • cracked pepper
  • 1/2 iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 1 stalk celery, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, finely sliced
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 6 sour dough baps or soft rolls


Prawn rolls with thousand island dressing

  1. Thaw the prawns and remove the shells from at least half of them.
  2. Combine the mayonnaise, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, salt and cracked pepper, then add the prawns and let the flavours infuse. Chill until ready to serve.
  3. For the iceberg salad, combine the shredded lettuce with the celery, red onion and toasted sesame seeds.
  4. Halve the buns and fill with the iceberg salad, then top with the tangy prawn mayonnaise.
