Pasta alfredo

Cream and cheese tossed in fettucine create a delicious pasta alfredo.
Ingredients
Pasta alfredo
- 375 g packet fettucine
- 60 g butter
- 300 ml carton light cream
- 1 1/2 cups grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- mesclun, crusty bread, to serve
Steps
Pasta alfredo
- Cook pasta in a large saucepan of boiling salted water, according to packet instructions until al dente (just tender). Drain well.
- Melt butter in a large frying pan on high. Blend in cream and 1 1/4 cups of parmesan cheese. Heat, stirring, 3 minutes until mixture is bubbling.
- Toss sauce and nutmeg through and season to taste. Serve topped with remaining parmesan cheese. Serve with salad and crusty bread.
