Ingredients
Pasta alfredo
- 395 grams fettuccine
- 60 g butter
- 300 ml light cream
- 1 1/2 cups parmesan, grated
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- fresh basil, torn (optional)
- crusty bread, to serve
Steps
Pasta alfredo
- In a large saucepan of boiling salted water, cook pasta following packet instructions. Drain well.
- Meanwhile, melt butter in a large frying pan over high heat. Add cream and 1 1/4 cups parmesan. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the pasta to pan along with nutmeg. Season to taste. Toss to coat well.
- Serve with extra parmesan and a few torn basil leaves (optioned). Accompany with crusty bread.
