Macaroni and cheese bake, pasta recipe, brought to you by Woman's Day



  • 1 cup coarse fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated tasty cheese
  • 1 rasher rindless bacon, chopped
  • 30 g butter, melted
  • 1 green onion, chopped

Macaroni and cheese bake

  • 250 g macaroni or other short pasta, cooked
  • 1 1/2 cups grated tasty cheese
  • 1 cup baby spinach leaves
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup light sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped semi-dried tomatoes
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • salad, to serve


Macaroni and cheese bake

  1. Preheat oven to moderate, 180°C.
  2. In a bowl, combine all topping ingredients.
  3. In a separate bowl combine all other ingredients. Season to taste. Spoon into a large casserole dish (or divide evenly between 6 X 1-cup ramekins).
  4. Sprinkle topping over pasta mixture. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Serve with salad.
